Digital Video

New Mexico Digital Video is a digital production studio in New Mexico.

Established in 2000, New Mexico Digital Video specializes in regional documentaries, music videos, commercials, artist promotional videos, short fiction and feature length filming.

In addition, we do digital film editing, computer animation, blue screen filming and live location film shoots on MiniDV cameras.

Javier Arellano - Writer, Director, Actor, Animator

Javier is a native of Embudo, he is an artist, actor, animator and director, writer, photographer, cook. He is the owner and founder of SolStudios, an Animation production facility in Northern New Mexico. His great love and fascination of cinema and theatre started at an early age when he was introduced to numerous artists and actors through his parents and has been a strong part of his life ever since.

He has been a part of numerous theatre productions as well as worked on film and video production crews. His great interest in mythology, the obscure, scientific and the mysterious pave the way for many of his ideas, which he hopes to translate to film.

DanOtero

Dan Otero- Writer, Director, Actor, Editor, Webmaster

Dan is a writer, composer, guitarist, father and computer enthusiast from northern New Mexico.

Dan is a student of the Universe with brothers and sisters in Albuquerque, Gainesville, Santa Fe, Dixon, Missoula, Seattle, Tampa, San Fransicso, Ft. Collins, Taos, Durango, UNM (BA '96), UM, UF, Roswell, Miami, Madrid, Los Alamos, Alachua and Española.

Dan has written screenplays, short stories, folk, jazz and classical compositions, documentaries, short films (Including The Troll's Demise), and two feature-length films: Zen & the Asteroid and FireHazard: Anthology.

Dan is an avid outdoorsman who knows lots of great spots in New Mexico for camping, hiking, biking and caving. Dan has a great interest in puppeteering, magical realism, and Mars.

Bob films a scene

- Director of Photography

Bob is originallyfrom Ohio and has made New Mexico his home for the past 22 years. Bob loves camera work and acting and has been involved in television production since 1976.

He has produced several television commercials and has appeared in six locally filmed Hollywood movies. Bob has also worked on numerous live theater productions with Northern New Mexico Community Theater and Northern New Mexico Community College, where he previously worked as theater operator.

These days, Bob prefers to be on the operating side of the camera.

Lesley Foster is a photographer living in Santa Fe, NM. During the day, she works at Boarders book store, and by night, she films digital video and takes photographs.

Sheila Devitt - Actress

Sheila grew up in Santa Fe, NM and currently lives in San Francisco. She received her BFA in acting from UNM in '95. She has performed all over Albuquerque & Santa Fe; in England & Scotland; and currently in Cambridge, MA with the Stanislavsky Summer School.

Other short film work includes a role in Victory Lap, written & directed by Ron Haas; and brief appearances in Flicks on 66. Recent stage work includes Almas directed by Sabina Zuniga; Drink Me at the Vortex threatre in Albuquerque, NM; Twelfth Night directed by Eldaa Miller.

Sheila directed House of Bernarda Alba at the Vortex theatre in 2000, featuring Salome Martinez as Bernarda Alba. Sheila is currently thrilled to be a part of the great cast & crew of Zen & the Asteroid!!! More info here.

Wil Albarez

- Actor, Make-up

Wil Albarez is from Roswell, NM. Wil has performed at Midieval Fairs and Rennaisance Festivals in Denver, Phoenix and throughout the Southwest. He has developed a number of characters including Beggar Wil, the Horned Troll and the Tall True Tree Troll in the The Troll's Demise. See Mike Hoffman's sketch of The Troll.

Wil currently produces a live performance trouppe called FireHazard. A typical FireHazard show includes Fire Eating, Fire Juggling and Fire BLOWOUTS. Check out Wil's Myspace Page

Amy B. Archuleta - Actress, Make-up


Amy was born and raised in the Española Valley.  She was quick to realize her love of theatre and performed in many productions in high school and community college.  Amy attended the The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and got a taste of what she would be doing for the rest of her life.

Past and current work includes: The Butterfly's Evil Spell, by Federico Garcia Lorca; The Farolito's Of Christmas and The Legend of La Llorona, by Rudolfo Anaya; El Baile, by Joey Chavez; The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, by Ray Bradburry; Zen and the Asteroid, by Daniel Otero and Javier Arellano. Joe Vigil builds a robot puppet

Joe Vigil - Light, Sound, Set Contruction, Actor

Joe has been involved with the arts nearly all of his life. Having never grown out of scribbling pictures as a child, he spends most of time drawing and painting. His artwork has appeared on album covers, as well as in galleries, public art spaces, and in private collections throughout the country. Since graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art, he has been relentlessly involved with local theatre and music and has worked on scores of shows with a cross-section of Albuquerque's finest entertainers.

His entertainment experience runs the gamut from designing and building sets to playing guitar in his experimental rock band, Becky's Ankles. A recent foray into digital video added acting to his already full resume. Joe comes from a family of Northern New Mexico artists and craftspeople, and likes to think of himself as part of a tradition of making something from nothing.

Sabina Zuniga

Sabina Zuniga de Varela is a local Albuquerque actor, director and producer.
She is a founding member of Teatro Nuevo Mexico, New Mexico's newest Latino
theatre group.

Jonathan Dodge Mayer

Jonathan Dodge Mayer - Original Score, Sound Design, Foley

Jonathan has been performing and composing original music for over fifteen years. He has been involved in formal music study, both privately and through school from a very young age. In 1996 Jonathan was awarded a bachelor of arts from the University of New Mexico and in 2000 he received an Associate of Science degree in the Recording Arts.


Jonathan opened his first recording and composition studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996 where he provided music composition and production services to his clients for four years before moving the operation to San Francisco in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, in addition to working out of his own studio, Jonathan worked with clients at a number of studios around the Bay Area including a two and a half year stint as a full-time staff engineer at the legendary Different Fur Recording in San Francisco. Currently, Jonathan splits his time between his own studio and several others in the area. His combination of musical creativity, music theory training and technical audio expertise have made him especially valuable to his clients.

Jeff Primm is an actor, real-estate agent from Santa Fe, NM. He currently lives in Albuquerque. Jeff is the most versitle actor in Zen & the Asteroid, playing 5 seperate roles. Try to spot them all!
