6.2.08 - Completed 20th Anniversary Commerative DVD for the Mid-Rio Grande Homeschool band (MRGHSB). This is the 3rd annual DVD made by NMDV for the MRGHSB, including performances at the Albuquerque River of Lights (12/6/07), the Pops Concert (3/20/08) and the Spring Concert (5/15/08).

The Mid-Rio Grande Home School band was founded in 1988 by a group of home school parents and Mr. Bart Strohl. Starting with six students, the size of the band has grown to as many as 75. Home schooled students ages 9-19 rehearse in Albuquerque (two locations), Los Lunas, Santa Fe, and Tijeras. Currently directed by Mr. Brad Bratchar.

4.11.08 - NMDV took part in the Third Annual SFMUG 5-Minute Film Festival . Thanks to the Santa Fe Mac User Group for facilitating this event.

3.15.08 - Some new videos posted on YouTube. Good Night Animals by Round Mountain, performed live at GIG Performance Space, Santa Fe, NM 1/12/08. The Voices in My Head, performed by Dan Otero and Justin Marley at O'Neil's Pub, Albuquerque 1/29/08.

2.1.08 - Here's a joyous 2 minute video of Cielito Lindo, performed by Las Meganenas and produced by NMDV. And for you 'Weird Al' Yankovic fans, here's a version of The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota.

1.30.08 - MetroMania Magazine has published a poem called 'Miss Janey' written by Dan Otero. View the free online magazine.

1.25.08 - NMDV filmed a performance of "Electricidad, A Chicano Take on the Story of Elektra" Teatro Nuevo Mexico of Albuquerque presents "Electricidad," a fresh and modern look at the Greek tragedy Elektra. Starrin Sabina Zuniga-Varela and written by chicano playwright Luis Alfaro. Performed at the National Hispanic Cultural Center .

1.18.08 - Posted video of Darbstar performing his song Buggin' - Live @ The Launchpad, Albuquerque, NM - 11/10/07. Colin Darby aka "Darbstar" was born in Panorama City, CA in May 1979...The son of a police officer and nephew of Ken Darby...(Love me Tender, Wizard of Oz, Porgy and Bess) he had a penchant for bright lights and song at a young age. His family moved across the desert to New Mexico in the early 90's, a time when hip-hop music was in it's golden age and rappers were becoming ever more present in the music industry.

1.9.08 - Posted video of Concepto Tambor Live at The Launchpad, Albuquerque, NM - 11/10/07. The music of Afro-Latino percussion ensemble Concepto Tambor carries the spirit of collectivity and celebration, melding traditional rhythms like sambas, guaguancos, and festejos with contemporary sounds like hip hop - all with a rock n' roll attitude. The group now spends their time between Albuquerque, NM and Long Beach, CA.

12.18.07 - NMDV completed production on Antonio and the Ceiling Fan--A Christmas Story. It premiered on KUNM (Radio 89.9 FM) on 12/23/07. A bilingual New Mexico holiday cuento narrated by Sabina Zuniga-Varela. It follows the transformation of 16 year old Antonio as he comes to understand the importance of a mother's role in everyone's life. Licensing information is available on the Public Radio Exchange website.

9.13.07 - Haiku winner in the weekly Alibi for Best Campign slogan.

8.19.07 - NMDV was at the 2007 Santa Fé Indian Market, working with Greyshoes, American Indian Sculptor on a video documentary. His work is currently showing at Legends Santa Fé.

8.1.07 - The Blue Dreamers play American, New Mexican and Galactic Folk Music. Stories, Laughs, Laments and Libations. Joyous music for voyagers to sing at Callahan's Bar. Go have yourself a listen.

5.8.07 - A 14 minute Caving Documentary called New Mexico Underground will be screening at The Guild Cinema as part of the 2007 New Mexico Filmmaker Showcase. Saturday, May 19th at 12:50pm.

5.3.07 - A two minute scene from Zen & the Asteroid called C.R.A.I.G. meets S.I.M.P.E.E. screened at the Santa Fe Mac User's Group (SFMUG) 4 minute film festival. 3.20.07 - NMDV is producing a DVD for Maple Street Dance Studio that highlights the 2006 Open House Extravaganza.

3.1.07 - NMDV is working with Las Meganenas (the big girls) filming their production of Rio de Lagrimas (River of Tears) at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This is a sixty minute trilingual (Spanish, English and Nahuatl) piece written by Soledad Marjon-Hindi and scored by Vivian Fernanadez: performed by Soledad Marjon Hindi, Vivian Fernandez, Apryl Sandoval, Valerie Borrego, Michelle Otero and Directed by Sabina Zuniga-Varela. 12.06.06 - NMDV screened 3 projects at the New Mexico Film Expo: New Mexico Underground, Fairness for Androids and Trolls (F.F.A.A.T.) and Firehazard: Blowouts. Special thanks to Jon Bowman and Stephen "Jules" Rubin.
